Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a creative form of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which focuses to normalise, alleviate emotional pain by improving psychological flexibility (in thought, behaviour and emotions). It focuses on helping clients face their fears without avoiding them through mindfulness exercises. ACT has found to be effective in a wide range of areas such as depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, substance use, eating disorders, chronic pain, health psychology concerns, cancer patients.
