Andrea is a Clinical Psychologist who has more than 20 years of clinical experience in public and private healthcare sectors, locally and abroad. At the Institute of Mental Health, she provided psychological therapy and assessments for people suffering from a broad range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, phobias, complicated grief, trauma and personality disorders. She has been actively involved in mental health advocacy and education, through mental health talks and lectures, as well as training (including crisis management) for various settings.
Andrea is trained and well versed in multiple evidence-based psychotherapeutic models, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and seeks to adopt the most appropriate therapeutic approach to fit the specific needs of each client. Throughout her career, women’s wellness has been an area of interest, and she has helped many female clients address their unique challenges in coping with singlehood, motherhood, marital problems, loneliness and other difficult life events and transitions.
She believes all individuals possess strengths within themselves, and the key to a good therapeutic process involves building awareness and tapping into these abilities. In doing so, we are able to overcome difficulties and live resilient, happy and fulfilled lives.
